Corrigendum

An official amendment to a published tender: a new deadline, a changed quantity or specification, a revised EMD, or an answer to bidders' queries. It binds every bidder.

What a corrigendum changes

Buyers issue a corrigendum (also called an addendum or amendment) when something in the tender changes after publication. The most common is an extension of the bid submission date; others change the BOQ, specifications, eligibility, EMD or the bid opening date, or publish answers from the pre-bid meeting.

A corrigendum is published on the same portal as the tender, usually as a new document plus changed dates on the tender's page. It forms part of the tender: a bid that ignores it can be rejected.

Not missing one

Corrigenda are easy to miss because the tender's title does not change. Portals do not always notify bidders who downloaded the documents. Save a tender here and we check it for changes and email you what changed, old value and new.

If a corrigendum changes the BOQ or forms after you have uploaded your bid, you may need to withdraw and resubmit before the deadline. The corrigendum or the portal says so.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does a corrigendum extend the deadline automatically?
Only if it says so. Many corrigenda exist only to extend dates; others change content and leave the dates alone.
How do I know a tender I am bidding on has changed?
Check the portal before you submit, or save the tender here: we email every corrigendum we detect, with what changed.
Is an addendum the same as a corrigendum?
In practice, yes. Both are amendments to the tender documents issued before the bid deadline.
